World Asthma Day – 7th May 2019

Did you know that 8 million people have been diagnosed with asthma in the UK alone?

Asthma is a common long-term condition that can cause coughing, wheezing, chest tightness and breathlessness. This condition affects many of our patients and requires ongoing management.

Aggravators of asthma can include:

  • Pollution
  • Pollen
  • Cold air
  • Exercise
  • Stress
  • Infections

Asthma is usually treated by using an inhaler but some people will also need to take tablets. Identifying and avoiding your asthma triggers can help you keep your symptoms under control.

If you are a sufferer of asthma, please ensure that you attend the practice for your asthma review and management plan at least once a year.
